but lately my youtube music fix is the anti-beato

I think his music theory breakdowns on songs are brilliant, and he has a way of getting you interested in songs you knew in a million years you wouldn’t give a shit to listen to otherwise.

But… I do find his constant parade of his battle between satisfying his core audience yet trying to be “Marketable” quite annoying.

But he does seems like a nice chap.

Nice chap, not crap. A bit of a corporate shill, but oh well…

He has supremely, almost impossibly generic top-40-rock boomer tastes, but I've still enjoyed tons of his vids.

I'm curious why he's being labelled a shill/corporate shill here. Just because he covers top 40 content?

I've only ever heard him say bad shit about Apple, major labels, streaming platforms, YouTube policies, etc... he's been pretty critical of all of it.

Considering that seemingly everybody who's ever been involved or tangentially involved in bands knows who this guy is, he certainly seems to have cracked Youtube's algorithm. His taste in music seems quite awful to me, I'm not interested in his ear training method and I don't care what makes this song great, but I don't hate the guy, he seems all right I guess. He's certainly there, in your Youtube sidebar.
