These are both pretty much the exact design I have with the tiny removeable filter. Like I said, they are way better than your standard Walgreens affair, but I'm hoping one or more of those slightly different designed ones (Eargasm, EarPeace, Earasers, Westone TRU, etc.) are better. Those ETY style seem to especially affect guitar, so much so I can't really hear any nuance to what I'm playing. I end up pulling them out of my ear a bit or not using them altogether.

I was thinking of starting a thread on “How to make experimental noise,” where people can share the multitude of ways they go about it. Does anything like that exist here (I can’t figure out how to search at the moment)?

Is this a dumb idea? Ha ha.

If not, do you think “Tech Room” or “General Discussion”?

My vote would be “General Discussion” over Tech Room, but not overwhelmingly so.

Never made noise, but I remember an interview with either Masonna or Daniel Menche back in the 90s where one method discussed was ramming a live mic with a running vacuum cleaner for several minutes.
