Re: Streaming Netflix/Hulu/etc. - what's good lately?

I'm watching Mr. Robot, 2 episodes left in Season 1. The first two or three were excellent but then it kind felt like the writer(s) went 'oh shit, I'm basically making Fight Club with hackers and 10 episodes means 475 minutes of material, we need to add things' so the show lost focus to the point I was considering about not finishing the season - could be I'm just not made to watch TV series as most of what was happening seemed like excellently executed filler. However, I enjoyed episode 8 very much. NC overall but very far from being the best thing ever as it is often heralded.

Season 4 is good though.

Ohh, I think I will pass then.

what I liked about season 1:

- cinematography, it felt like a craftily shot film
- sound design
- performances all around, especially some of the minor characters
- very effectively done as in the scenes which were supposed to be dense were etc

what I didn't like
- it felt like it should have been half in length, lots and of filler content
- even if the filler content was interesting (like the Tyrell character and his beautiful in a creepy way wife) the show struggled to connect it to the main theme
- characters were like a cliche/snl skit version of themselves. wacky female hacker, the overly ambitious corporation worker who has no morality whatsoever, the evil CEO of Evil Corporation (he says he is glad a dude killed himself and then talks to the public about how much of a tragedy his passing was. Oh, the hypocrisy!) Even the main character was a hoodie wearing no social life hacker, but Rami Malek's performance excellent sells it
- some of the dialogue seemed to be written by a 13 year old right after watching 'Fight Club' (and I know this show knows there are many assimilates between the two)

So dunno, I did enjoy some bits very much but I'd rate it at 5 out of 10 overall? Not anywhere as good as I heard it was.

I just finished Mr Robot. The cameras and soundtrack are indeed incredible, most notably on season 4.
I am not sure if I missed a “big reveal” at the end or I was just sort filling in the blanks myself the whole time. I couldn’t really describe the plot to someone. It was more like a sensory experience.

Get Back episode 2 now playing.

Credit to george for taking a stand instead of sitting there and whining. Peter summed it up nicely. Paul was right from his pov and george was right too.

Then when Paul and ringo (and linda!) get together, they’re whining about yoko but when John and Paul get together off camera there’s no mention of yoko. It’s all about the arrangements.

I hesitate to say “Ringo contributes nothing,” but I’m begging him to just say something.
