Re: More ugly instruments
92hideous but at least its ugliness is almost entirely due to its whole raison d'etre which sorta gives it a pass in my book.

Re: More ugly instruments
95It's hideous and dude is starting from a flawed theory, "bent wrist" doesn't automatically equal "carpal tunnel" at all. And then he moves from that to "I had to make it crazy looking, not just ergonomic", and well, I don't mean to be negative but no.
Re: More ugly instruments
96Bass players in particular seem to have a susceptibility to total taste bypass, one day you’re thinking about stripping a Precision back to natural finish and the next you’re buying something made of bubinga with 9 strings and fanned frets and a body shaped like a cumshot.
Re: More ugly instruments
97man do they ever. Why is that? I seriously want to know because I've been playing bass a lot and I'm afraidmatttkkkk wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 6:36 am Bass players in particular seem to have a susceptibility to total taste bypass, one day you’re thinking about stripping a Precision back to natural finish and the next you’re buying something made of bubinga with 9 strings and fanned frets and a body shaped like a cumshot.
Re: More ugly instruments
98Which came first, the ugly bass or the ugly bass amp? At some point the world decided that bass amps 1) cannot look cool, 2) should be rack mounted, and 3) need to have a graphic EQ.TylerDeadPine wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 10:11 amman do they ever. Re: More ugly instruments
99Guitarists have a lot of nerve talking shit about basses considering the omnipresent fugliness that is the Strandberg guitar.
These turds are EVERYWHERE. Of course they're only slightly uglier than a standard small-head Strat in red with a white pickguard

Re: More ugly instruments
100Has anybody ever seen anybody actually play one of these fugly things in a band? I tend to think of all these ridiculous designs as bedroom-only instruments. Like nobody in their right mind would show up to an audition with one of these, or pull one out at band practice and go "look what I got!"
On the other hand, praise & worship bands are full of potato basses.
