Steely Dan are easy targets. As mentioned elsewhere here, didn't appreciate them for the longest time. They're the kind of band a post-boomer type has to almost grow into if he doesn't grow up enjoying them somehow. In other words, not at all a good band to foist on the unwilling or uninitiated. Some never care for them, which is fine. Am going to see them next summer, orchestra pit, second row.

VU and a good chunk of HD: also Not Crap.
ZzzZzzZzzz . . .

New Novel.

Which 3-5?
circus lupus, dag nasty, embrace, faith, faraquet, fugazi, happy go licky, hoover, jawbox, lungfish, make-up, minor threat, nation of ulysses, rites of spring, shudder to think and void.

only those sixteen.
I'm tipping the sacred cow here. It wouldn't classify if you all agreed with me. I'm not going to rehash the ones I already listed. But Embrace is fine. Hooker is okay I guess. Make-Up is listenable. I really don't care for Circus Lupus, Dag Nasty, Rites of Spring, Nation of Ulysses, Shudder to Think. I'll get back to you on Faraquet, Faith, and Void - but I don't have high hopes.

Again, this is only my jaded opinion. It just doesn't speak to me. Maybe if I had discovered more of these as a teen I'd have a sentimental spot for them. But as-is, I just don't enjoy it now. SST and T&G had better track records (40-50% maybe?) for my taste. But you guys enjoy away.
