As a kid "Memory Lane" by Minnie Ripperton tore me up something awful: "save me...save me, save me, save me..." she died weeks later. What a beautiful, poignant song.

Got a little misty watching Jake E. Lee do a ripping performance of RR's solo for "Mr. Crowley" at UIC Pavilion in '86. My friends laughed at me, but I was feeling it and will exhibit no shame.
Justice for Dexter Wade and Nakari Campbell

Three very simple songs from the songwrting point of view, but that Vedder fluke really nails it there.
The relatively non-sensical (lyric-wise) "Yellow Ledbetter" has gotten me pretty close to shedding a tear. Fairly simple, yet powerful, tune.
Whoa, dudes. Didn't expect to find you here! Let's enjoy this moment before everyone inevitably starts laughing at Pearl Jam.

I Know It's Over and Back to the Old House are capable of getting me close - they give me the feels, as the kids (used to?) say.

In a different direction - on a different planet - the theme tune from the TV programme Black Beauty and the theme song from The Littlest Hobo definitely get the tears ready to trickle.

What really hits me, though, is Bright Eyes from Watership Down. I was four when it was in the charts and I remember being excited and saying 'Mum! Mum! Rabbit music's on!'*

Nostalgia? Yup. Sentimentality? Yup. Sheer shitheadedness? Yup. But it takes me to a time when I was too young and dumb to know what a pointless grind life is. Sigh...

*What an utter twat...
