I dont think of myself as a speed metal guy whatsoever and this band is the only one I listen to in the "metalcore" genre... but I fucking love this band. Their last 2 LP's were solid 9/10's in my book.
Got a laugh out of this...

Did the article seriously not mention that notable lady by name?
I apologise for not taking assidious notes in my Rolodex during my fleeting read of the article

Honestly, Colbert being a part of a "Smarty Pants..." response is mildly disappointing.

That said, you seriously dug the last couple of records but don't know the lady involved?

Because, if that's actually the case?

A few of her recent records might be worth checking out. Not a lock, but worth giving them a listen.

Do I owe you another apology?

But I still have to say N.C.

Gimme Hatebreed or Integrity any day for metalcore.
I like the dumb death metal riffage of Ringworm's The Promise.

I've never cared much for Converge, but the alternative in Boston was Blood For Blood. They get a not crap for at least bringing something to the table.
I'd rather be throwing darts.

I think it was said on the old forum, or maybe this is a conversation I had elsewhere, but it deserves to be repeated: how does a band with a recording engineer in it always sound so fucking awful live?

The Convergecore sound, that sort of melting pot of Neurosis without the space, d-beat without the catchiness, metal without the heavy - it can surpass its limitations sometimes, but never in the actual works of Converge. Trap Them had their moments, for example.
