I miss Tim on this board. Tim if you'r out there, please come back and visit. I understand if you've got bigger fish to fry though.tallchris wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:52 pm I think Tim/Andy owns one of these, and saw Andy play through it w/ Mint Mile once. Sounded great, because Andy (and he was playing a newer Danelectro into it), and for one of his solos he just went over and turned the amp up, then turned it back down when it was over.

23As for that paint job?
I get the feeling that a lone buddy at Fender is pestering coworkers with this very thread, and saying "See? I tried to tell you!"

Re: Fender Blues Jr.
26I'd always use these to test stuff in guitar stores if a Twin wasn't available. This whole line has it's own sound. Fender, but a little different. Not bad, and rather handy. Small package for a 12" speaker combo. I kinda like the little Pro Jr more, but it has a smaller speaker. It's been too long to recall much.
FM Ike played one for at least part of Minutes. Sounded good in that context.

Re: Fender Blues Jr.
27I had a tweed Blues Jr for years- recorded the last IG and the first 2 Bismarck records with it- and practiced w/ both very loud bands with no issue. At some point I swapped the speaker to a Greenback, which made a huge difference. It became a maintenance nightmare after about a decade.
Re: Fender Blues Jr.
28That's about right. I've actually gutted and rebuilt a Pro Jr before to remedy this very problem, along with some noise reduction.
Re: Fender Blues Jr.
29I'm just trying to wrap my brain around the idea that someone actually kept a Blues Jr. up and running for around a decade.c jury wrote: Wed Jan 05, 2022 4:21 pm I had a tweed Blues Jr for years- recorded the last IG and the first 2 Bismarck records with it- and practiced w/ both very loud bands with no issue. 30I bought mine used and have been playing on it for a decade. Redid the tubes a couple years ago, that's it. Granted it's not part of my regular rig so I don't put a ton of miles on it.numberthirty wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:39 pmI'm just trying to wrap my brain around the idea that someone actually kept a Blues Jr. up and running for around a decade.c jury wrote: Wed Jan 05, 2022 4:21 pm I had a tweed Blues Jr for years- recorded the last IG and the first 2 Bismarck records with it- and practiced w/ both very loud bands with no issue.
