I can't always follow FM bishopdante but that's on me, I appreciate his participation here. This forum would be a more boring place without them.

Someday I hope to toast this weirdo at this compound, and the rest of you as well.
This. I hope FM bishopdante stays.

I'm not sure why you're all so interested in having a conversation with someone who isn't interested in having a conversation with you. He's just waiting for his turn to speak. Take this thread for example... It's like a spambot got loose in here.

I've tried my best over the years and look where it's got me. It's like talking to a brick wall. The size of the ego on that guy! Clearly we have failed to recognise his genius, etc. Just try daring to disagree with the guy and see what happens.

BD's contribution to the decline in quality and membership of this forum has been immeasurable. There's people who might actually come back if they knew he had left.

You're attributing so much power to someone you could just put on Ignore, and then resenting that person for the power you're giving them.

I'd be more concerned about the quality of threads and discourse such as the irredeemably sexist "Foxcore" thread. I've spoken to cis and transgender women about the forum before it went down, and there is still the sense of hostility toward them in this place. Never heard anyone say they don't feel comfortable because there's a guy with wild ideas about audio technology.

At the risk of wildly veering this thread OT, I agree that the overwhelming maleness of this forum is at best a bummer. Thank you for speaking up as it's a matter that deserves to be addressed.

Jesus, WTF did you guys do to this thread while I was out for a few weeks? Can I just ignore that for now?

This little guy is gonna be nearly done by the end of next week. We're gonna need a bigger crane.

Dairy state now. Heading up there next week and staying in a rented cabin for 2 weeks, with a 3rd held tentatively. This should be it.

I'm gonna test out Verizon's dedicated mobile hotspot, which is double the speed of the only other option I've found. This is likely all I can do until other options open up. Should be fine, IMO. I'm not holding my breath on Starlink, but it'd be nice, of course. Keep finding more people who waited more than a year for setup. We'll see.

More soon.

Not trying to wipe my feet on anyone who's argued upthread, but...

Ignoring is a big part of internet life.

Also...my folks had a place in Central Wisconsin, sold just this last year, and slow internet there was a fact of life. Acceptable enough for normal internet use, but not at all recommended for uploading hi-res movie trailers to Vimeo.

All of this might change though, probably sooner than later.
ZzzZzzZzzz . . .

Yeah, haha. I'll try, but unless it's clutch I'll be driving to Milwaukee / Chicago for hangs with the new film I want to start on nears uploadable stuff. Fuckkk.

I'd say we're about 3 weeks from this little shit actually being live-able. Crazy to even think about. Not real until the lights get turned on. LFG.
