Re: What are you thinking right this second?
263What the hell was the drama movie made sometime around the 90s that had to do with (I think) the Troubles in Ireland (or was it the Irish mob?) that had a suspensfull sequence with an old guy tied up in the room above a pub with a booby trap on him. It was some kind of rig with marbles in a wooden case that would trigger an explosion if he moved to much causing them to roll?
You know that WTF was that movie I saw forever ago feeling?

264That ^^^ sounds like Blown Away, though not having seen it in over 25 years I can't recall that scene specifically. But it features Tommy Lee Jones as a mad bomber and has to do with the Troubles. Actually had an urge to revisit it about a year into the pandemic but a number of people say it hasn't aged well so that put a damper on it.

265So, Sinema just pissed all over voting rights, just like Manchin pissed all over climate action and helping babies. Biden may as well go home, Supreme Court cuts his balls off for good measure just so he knows who's got control of the executive. Republican coup can proceed. Russia and China prepare for war.
Quite a cliffhanger. What do you think we're likely to see in the upcoming season of We're All Going To Die?

266What blows my mind is had Bernie miraculously one he'd be equally hampered and arguably would have similar limited legislative achievements.Anthony Flack wrote: Thu Jan 13, 2022 3:20 pm So, Sinema just pissed all over voting rights, just like Manchin pissed all over climate action and helping babies. 267I think you've done it. The wikipedia description mentions Rube Goldberg machines and a roulette ball trigger. That has to be it. I can rest a little easier tonight with that mystery solved.DaveA wrote: Thu Jan 13, 2022 7:58 am That ^^^ sounds like Blown Away, though not having seen it in over 25 years I can't recall that scene specifically. Re: What are you thinking right this second?
268Will probably revisit it at some point. Won't go into it expecting Deep Cover levels of "Hey, this thing more watchable than I remembered," but there is often enjoyment to be had with bygone blockbusters that for better or worse don't really resemble current ones.

269I kind of hope my PRF Secret Santa just never got around to sending anything. (The alternative is that it disappeared in transit, which would be a bummer.)

270I have all these awesome explanatory computer models in my head but I have no skills to do anything with them. It's frustrating.
