This guy did a Rage 158 clone which has to be pretty close. I was going to gift one to Josh for Christmas a couple years ago but the MFG had to discontinue his original layout and design due to a cease-and-desist from Peavey and went to a generic case. It's too bad as it was 100% spot on which was half the charm.

Not seeing this up there any more at all though unless he had to hide it further under another name. I'll bet Peavey continued their shit on them if anyone needed another reason to hate what that company has been for past 20 years. That kind of legal nonsense might make me say "to hell with this" and never build another one too.
haha, awesome

They should have a tiny little contact mic attached to them with no way to turn it down so you can hear them rattle no matter what you do.

Side note: I really wanted that PV Fury pedal when I saw it then. Shouldn't have snoozed on it.

Oh man, PV aluminum rails reverb!! The reverb signal is actually passed through the rails like a plate, so you definitely get the rattle

Could it be used as a mic pre in a pinch? Like, not exactly a Colour Box, but something along those lines with XLR and 1/4" ins and outs. That you could use as an all purpose tube stage for recording an instrument direct, a mic pre, a boost pedal, etc.? Is this an option for the charity build? Because personally, that would be exactly the type of useful thing I would want. I've got a lot of pedals, but I would use something like this for practically everything.
Nah, its a distortion unit. Solid state gain stages pushing a low voltage tube into breakup. I wouldnt call it a mic pre or boost by any means. I have made a few little boost/preamps (viewtopic.php?p=786761#p786761) that sound great and have gotten a lot of use but they're designed for just kinda boosting and warming up an instrument signal. FM Airloom uses one for a lot of recording work and seems to dig it. He actually just ordered two stereo versions, too, so those are coming soon.

On that note, I do love that “Freak Scene” flange sound, which is—I think—a Big Muff into an Electric Mistress. I’d love to have that in a single pedal: something that can take a completely clean, JC-120 clean sound to “Freak Scene” jetplane flange with one stomp. With a blend control. (Maybe there’s something already out there that does that. Kerble me gently.)
I'd throw down money for a one stomp freakscene flange right now.
Man.....flanging is a difficult one. I've never successfully built one, myself, but i've tried a few times with sub-satisfactory results.

Man, those have REALLY shot up in value as a result. It's nuts.

The Decade is basically a scaled down Bandit. A 1981 Bandit 65 was the first amp I ever played through. I'd LOVE to have the lead channel (with 4-band EQ and pull thick and pull bright) as a pedal or 1-space rack. Maybe I'll just buy a Backstage Plus from that era and call it a day.

Same for me on the Bandit-as-first-played-amp-ever. It made my guitar louder, AND "sound like ministry". it was amazing. - It's not my nostalgia at all to think it's the pinnacle of tone.

Ah! Thanks for clearing that up. The Pentode Boost is a beauty, but not quite what I'm after. That Butler-esque distortion looks great.
