I have an RC-2 and I love it. super easy to use. this one is a couple of years old and I assume the new boss loopers have even more storage space. I use it a lot to capture some bass/guitar riffs to make sure I don't forget what I played. I don't even have to fire up an amp, just the guitar/bass into the looper, hit record and save it. for me that's the easiest way to capture riffs that I come up with when no recording gear is set up.twelvepoint wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 3:12 pm oops I think I meant RC-1 and RC-5, but FM tallchris I am interested in your if you want to pm me the details. Thanks!

142Has anyone used the Boss OD-20? Is it a serviceable little box or complete barf? What is COSM?
Johnny Demarco sounds rad on it, but I do think of him and only him when guys say "tone is in the hands."

143COSM is Boss’s take on Line 6 style digital modeling.GuyLaCroix wrote: Mon Feb 21, 2022 11:59 pm Has anyone used the Boss OD-20? Is it a serviceable little box or complete barf? What is COSM?

144The only time I have ever seen anyone use it was JP from the Locust and he sounded pretty great, but every time I have played through one it was always pretty ho-hum.GuyLaCroix wrote: Mon Feb 21, 2022 11:59 pm Has anyone used the Boss OD-20? 146Accounting for that I own broken(note: not borken. Actually non-functional...)?
I, personally, would suggest only thinking about buying one if it was damn cheap.
(Never mind that this looks like a potentially more sturdy version of the tech in question...)
Re: Generic Gear Opinion Request Thread
147FM#30, are you referring to the new one on the left or the old model?
Irregardless, I think I've chosen to pass. Might as well put that money toward a box that does one thing well, rather than several things okay.

(Seems like I've seen folks who were fans of the "Space Echo" that was built in that same housing having reliability issues as well...)
No judgement on the "One Versus Many..." aspect.
It's kind of an odd time where there are a few worthwhile "Many..." options, but I still totally get "One Thing Well..."
Re: Generic Gear Opinion Request Thread
149I need a hi-hat recommendation. I currently have 14" New Beats and like them. Just looking for an alternate sound when recording sometimes. Maybe something a little softer sounding when closed that can get a little washy if you let up the pedal pressure a bit. All of my other cymbals are a mix of Zildjian K and vintage Zildjian (A?) if that helps.
Re: Generic Gear Opinion Request Thread
150I had 13" New Beats for many years, but now recognize them instantly and not in a good way. I personally wouldn't go smaller than 15" at this point, which I realize makes an expensive purchase even more expensive. But bigger cymbals generally mean lower pitch and won't fight with the guitar frequencies so much. I also like that slow, sloshy sound when closed.
$ no object: probably Paiste Giant Beats. On a budget: Dream has some 15" pairs or I can get lucky again and re-buy my 16" Sabian SR2s.
