i used to think mass surveillance was a bad thing (and the govt version still is) but using phones to film and confront douchebags (especially cops) in public make me so happy inside. i havent lived in a big city post-smartphone era, and it makes me sad i can't do it too.

right on man

I was tempted to grab his hat and toss it on the tracks when the train came to the next station. But then I came to the realization that to do so would have amounted to the same thing as arguing with a homeless person who is ranting at some unseen phantom.

Then it would have been me that was the jagoff.
No idea what it is about the train that makes people act like complete jagbags. Earlier this year while in the subway I watched such a monstrous display of dickish behavior I had to insert myself in the situation. A distressed woman who had her shoes off, but located right beside her, was asking for money. She approached a man who said something to her that I couldn't understand because I had on headphones. She immediately looked crestfallen and walked away without her shoes. The man, some Under Armour-wearing dickhead then went and kicked her shoes on the traintracks. I had no choice but to walk-up to the asshole and ask why the fuck he had to kick her shoes onto the tracks? His response was "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU" and stepped to me like he was going to throw a punch. I immediately took out my phone and he began walking away with me following him repeating the question "why are you such a fucking piece of shit, kicking a homeless person shoes on the tracks"? Just here to say good for you. My grievance is with all the people in "douchebag on train" videos who just stand there doing nothing.

When it rains, it fucking pours.

My BF had to put his cat down today. Mouth cancer, cat declined rapidly.
Stubborn old relative (85) has finally realized he has to make "lifestyle" changes, now that he's finally figured out what Heart Failure is.
Rats got into the basement at rental property through a floor drain. I thought that was a myth.
Situation in Ukraine makes me cry.

Twitter detected "unusual login activity" on my account so they want me to enter my username or phone number to proceed.

What "unusual login activity"? And why should it even matter? It's my account, let me worry about it.

I don't even know what my username is because I just made a throwaway account SINCE YOU WON'T LET ME READ THE FUCKING PAGE WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT YOU SON OF A BITCH

God damnit what a useless site how does it still exist.

This sort of thing seems to be more and more common. On platforms and in Windows alike. Some just-introduced security feature popping out of nowhere blocking your access. Like you would come home from work and suddenly find an extra lock on your apartment door.

Jesus Christ. Unbelievably stupid.

There's a big Twitter phishing mailshoot doing the rounds at the moment, so be careful Re: anything like this.
