Being able to avoid assholes like this is the best argument for Solid State so far. Ugh, no thanks Angry Tube Guy.
That PDF is a *major* turn-off, knowing that you'd have to deal with that imbecile if something went wrong with the amp.

yeah drifting from the subject, my edge-lord past really is a lot of shame to carry around w/ me. I would have been drawn to a grouch weird dude like this back in the day and now it's just a complete embarrassment. It's like you have made some really cool gear, stay in your lane and stick to the schematic. Let someone else do the copy.

Groove tubes never made tubes, they just rebranded them.
There was an interview posted up thread is like 15 years old but apparently GT put quite a bit of money into spinning up US production.
In a twist though, I think they were bought out by Fender later that same year so it's not like Fender was ever going to continue the investment into us production tubes. It's just not what a large company that is primarily focused on selling to the big box stores would want/need to do...
...however if since they bought GT, that purchase should have included all assets - Fender may still have the equipment in mothballs? Maybe they might try to spin this back up? Hopefully they didn't just sell it all off.
Oh sorry I missed your earlier post. I do distinctly recall Pittman, some years ago, making a statement that he sold off his vintage amp collection to finance tube manufacture. Pity it never came to fruition.

it wasn't my post - I don't want to take credit for someone else doing it, I just thought it was an interesting interview and had no idea he was trying to do that and I am by no means a fan of AP but credit where credit is due. Good to be educated about why it's really not happening in the us since it's not the EPA as it has been imparted folk knowledge for years.

Super big shame it never happened.

Yeah no fuck this. From the EHX store:

The export restriction on Russian tubes has been resolved for now. We are accepting new orders, processing backorders, and hoping to resume shipping in April. Priority will be given to the oldest orders.
They're continuing to buy from their Russian mfgs. Personally, I can't get down with this. I don't want to get on a high-horse because holy shit the US has done awful, horrible, horrendous stuff and it makes me sick looking at my tax witholding knowing where it goes... but goddam I cannot purchase anything knowing it's going to Russian bank accounts right now.

Sure wish I knew what JJ Tesla was up to. Seems like they're well poised to fatten up their bank.

Where are JJ's made? I thought pretty much all tubes being made today were made in countries that didn't have environmental regulations that halted their production... like Russia, and China. I'd always heard that tubes were for some reason super toxic to produce hence them not being made in the US. I could be wrong. I pay little attention... to anything.
