maybe, but lighting bolt is also a two man band w/ masks. they toured w/ pink and brown in 2001 (or something)

pink and brown did break up. I like pink and brown better, but I like lightning bolt too

Supreme Not Crapness. These guys rock face and can whip a crowd into a formidable frenzy. Their brand of spastic noisy deafening tumult completely obliterates small villages in seconds.

I used to keep myself awake on my drive home in the mornings by listening to Ride the Skies and Wonderful Rainbow (both albums fit nicely on one disc) on random. I am still alive, so I vote not crap.

they are, in no way, crap

I saw them play with Pink & Brown a few years ago, in a small place in Willamsburg. It was summertime, and I had just come from an outdoor shoot, so I was wearing sandals (mistake #1)

The room was crowded with people who were all at least 10 years younger than I am, and most of them were RISD grads. Some of you may know that RISD grads are the most violent showgoers on this earth.

I'm not joking.

So the music starts up, and all of a sudden a bunch of RISD girls target me (must have been the sandals, maybe they thought I was a hippie) and start shoving me. I shove back (mistake #2)

RISD Girl #1's boyfriend hits me in the face. I tell him he's an asshole, hitting a girl in the face. So RISD Girl #2's boyfriend punches me in the stomach.

At this point, one of my friends intervenes, and after a short altercation, I emerge bloodied and with one broken toe.

I stayed for the rest of the rock, then went to go get the toe taped.

PS: I've had my toes broken at more than one show, and never seem to remember that kids these days like to stomp. Maybe they make steel toed Birkenstocks.

Damn, that sucks. I forgot that kids do stupid things at gigs. Since all the bands I've seen in the last few years have been of the mogwai/slint/shellac variety I've become accustomed to standing perfectly still and just enjoying the music. I have to say it beats going home with bruises/broken bones.
