As for the music being played, by *far* the most popular choice was Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five,” which we heard in at least five different demonstrations. No Sade, surprisingly.

One dude popped a scratchy old jazz record on his gear, and another played a very average mass-produced Bowie record at one point. I appreciated these choices—you got to hear, for at least a few minutes, how the gear performed with regular records.

I brought some records with me to the show I attended. A couple of rooms let me be the DJ. The guy in the Wilson Audio room would not play "Bela Lugosi's Dead." He said to me, "I love that song and Bauhaus, and that would sound amazing, but these people just won't understand." I think he was selling his customers short though. You never know.

I did however get to hear Useless Children (remember them?) on the Simon Yorke, can't recall the other components. It sounded loud and good.

Holy shit, these look like a dystopian robot cop that's going to get your identity wrong and put you in a gulag for a crime you didn't commit:

I always assumed they were his bodyguards, but turns out the emperor was an audiophile. Explains why they did such a dismal job.

Hideous. I don't like the way most floor-standing speakers look, especially the further they get away from the basic box shape. I'm sure those sound amazing, though. I prefer bookshelf size, aesthetically, to be honest.
