Never mind that not even having the spine to be for same sex marriage from the jump when you are running for a Presidential nomination doesn't put you in much of a position to actually get a "Federal..." level law on the books when it comes to any of this this stuff.

Some of why Democrats lose probably has a lot to do with that they don't seem to have any real problem with kicking the can down the road when it comes to these sorts of things.

Politely?

This is an incorrect assessment.

What this actually is?

It is what happens when you throw someone who won't accept that you don't get to go out on your own terms as a Supreme Court Justice on top of someone whose pride(or worse, actual stupidity...) won't allow them to run a unity ticket with Sanders that will actually stand a chance of defeating the "Orange Turd..." in question.

Obviously, protecting what even RGB pretty well said was a "Duct Tape..." fix was not important enough for either one of those folks to take a half a second and level with themselves.
Can you replace the pronouns with proper nouns so the daft ones such as myself can follow your argument?

Past that...

This is HRC...

It is like you are actually trying to talk anyone to the left of Andy Griffith out of supporting you.

Hillary Clinton had the chance to make gay rights history. She refused.
During her first run for president in 2008, Hillary Clinton had an opportunity to become an undisputed leader in the gay rights movement.

As she prepared for a forum on the gay-oriented Logo network, she reached out to her friend Hilary Rosen, a political consultant who is a lesbian. Rosen expressed frustration that so many mainstream political figures opposed legalized same-sex marriage, and she challenged Clinton to speak out for a community that had strongly supported her.

Clinton refused.

“I’m struggling with how we can support this with a religious and family context,’’ Rosen recalled Clinton telling her. Clinton just wanted to know the best way to explain the position.

The exchange was painful for Rosen, who had known Clinton since they worked on children’s issues together in the 1980s.

“We took it personally,” Rosen said. “You try not to because it’s politics, but in this case, the politics is personal.”
“You could see the powerful way she has leveraged her influence on behalf of women and children or other issues,” said Alan van Capelle, a former director of the now-disbanded Empire State Pride Agenda. “In terms of LGBT rights and marriage, there were people who led and people who followed. And on that issue, she followed.”

A lot of Democrats don't seem to have any problem putting dealing with things off until tomorrow as long as they get their slice of the pie today.
The (Bill AND Hillary) Clinton generation of NEW DEMOCRATS with their welfare reform, pro-business, "it's the economy (errr Dow Jones S&P) stupid" in particular.
HOWEVER, this amounts to nothing but MORE typical left of Center finger pointing, which is some of the behavior that got us in this mess. I dunno a solution, and am not about to pretend I do. The right has successfully re-written the language of discourse in this nation.

None of the above bullshit explains why democrats cannot unite behind the democrat nominee once the primaries are over.

Sure, maybe you liked bernie, or harris, or warren or somebody else, but staying home on election day to protest Hillary has led us to this.

Even Biden was better than the alternative, and I am no Biden fan. Being pissed off at the lack of progressiveness in the Democratic party is no excuse for handing the election over to the insanity that is the Republican party.
