^It's an OK deal! You can find these new for about $200 pretty regularly. The Supralite's are all right drums - chrome over steel shell, tube lugs, decent throw-off (better than an P-85.) I picked up a piccolo one a while back when I was concerned about traveling w/ the Black Beauty piccolo a few years ago, but that's not really a concern any more.

The P88AC has always been intriguing to me, but had so many bad experiences with die-cast materials and clumsiness...like for instance, the Camco lugs & those DW Clamp-on Bass drum spurs. I am not sure I will give one a try. Die-cast metal is brittle, not as strong as steel - and that's something you need in a lever arm, especially if you like your snares pretty tight. I could see this snapping right off - or if you have it placed awkwardly & hit it with your knee.

I don't know - I've well documented my hate for the P85, but I think I will be sticking with the P86 even though the P88AC does look a lot cooler & one of those P86s bit the tip of my finger badly at the beginning of a long set (blood EVERYwhere & lesson learned).
