I have some friends in California who don't and wouldn't purchase any firearms, but they like going to shooting ranges and firing guns. So I see the appeal of that. I was in Boy Scouts, where I fired rifles and shotguns, I thought it was cool. But I wouldn't buy one, just seems unnecessary. My wife's right-leaning parents recently purchased guns, I asked her if they had ever owned guns before, she said no. I haven't asked them why.

I agree with all who have said assault rifles should be banned. The massacre in Uvalde makes me angry and sad.
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

300k babies are born every month in the US. And two million new guns are sold. Seven new guns for every new person. And guns hang around for a long time; they are harder to destroy than children. Today's home protection/suicide gun is tomorrow's home invasion gun.

If trends continue you should have two guns per person within ten years and easily be on track for three guns per person by 2050, which is more guns than you could collectively even hold in your hands unless you were holding a gun with two other guns.

I’m so proud they decided to make an example of (and cuff) a 10 year old, who even they concede was playing a poorly timed prank. This is what they consider bravery. It almost makes you think that you should be able to protect yourself from “the man”.

Are they even allowed to say something like this? It seems very “Judge Dredd”.
