Does anyone have a recommendation for a speaker repair in Brooklyn? A friend of mine bought them from Van L when he lived in Chicago and the cost to ship would be a bit prohibitive. Thanks.

what kind of speaker? a celestion cream back in a marshall cabinet, or the woofer in a home hifi speaker?

They are hifi speakers. The surrounds are going bad and need to be replaced

There are numerous foam surround replacement kits out there. Or he could ship just the drivers that need refoaming somewhere instead of the whole speakers. Shouldn't be too terrible to do that. If he does that I recommend zip tying them face to face (or something rigid covering each cone) to prevent any damage to the cones in shipping.

I just googled speaker reconing/repair in Chicago when I needed that done to an old pair of Advents and dropped them off at a rando place. They did a fine job. J&J speaker or something like that. I'm sure there is some place local for him though.
