I don't know. Admittedly I never really felt the temptation to delve into Mudhoney's albums because the singles didn't do much for me, but did they have a neo-psychedelic aspect or was it mostly just Stooges / Blue Cheer riffage? Loop always struck me as more arty and experimental.
I hate music, it's got too many notes.

IANYE but Blue Cheer, and The Stooges, we're both plenty psychedelic. I also hear psychedelia coloring in some of Mydhoney's music, though I'd be remiss if I didn't state that I'm not entirely knowledgeable about their back catalog. I definitely hear a cosmic squall in songs that I do know and enjoy.

yes. And I also know a bit of their back catalog and have seen them maybe 6 times. "Since We Became Translucent" and "Under a Billion Suns" are definitely psychedelic.
What I said about Loop sounding more like Mudhoney than Spacemen 3 (knowing that they were contemporaries), is the way Loop used effects pedals reminded me more of Steve Turner's guitar parts than anything by S3.
old stuff

good band. bit overrated tho

those Loop guys seemed to dig em a bunch

cannot stand spiritualized. i hate that part of the 90s where british guys were making pretentious drug inspired 'gospel' music

the music of spiritualized reminds me of the crappy theme song to The Sopranos

spacemen 3 = not crap, waffles
spiritualized = utter crap

i seem to recall reading an interview where (i think it was) Peter Kember made a disparaging remark about Big Black. i can't for the life of me find it now.... i wanna say it was on the site 'perfect sound forever' but i could be wrong
