Equally, the serial number is 13 - I think that this means it is the 3rd TB1000 made. Combined with the fact that it is in amazing condition means that I'd expect it to go for over $3k.
I guess we'll see - probably will be relisted...

4Oi, Danjou...
There's a man round your way selling a bean guitar for £660. I was thinking about it, but i won't be able to get a shot before purchase. Interested?

you should probably pick up one of these to go with it.
so the bean i can understand going for $3K, what with it being old and somewhat unique, and really difficult to try and reproduce. fine.
but the plexi? over $3K for an original plexi? with the relative simplicity of the schematic and the availability of replacement parts, either vintage or new "boutique" stuff, it seems like it'd be possible to put together the same amp or better (new caps and all) for way, way less. okay, maybe the transformers would cost a lot? a hundred or two hundred each?
wouldn't you be able to get the same or at least a comparable sound for a fraction of the price, DIY-style?

Sure, or a used Sovtec. However, a Yugo or a Mustang will get you to the grocery store too, but it's more fun to drive the Mustang. I agree that plexi amps are expensive, but everybody wants them.
Based on the sellers description, it probably needs new tubes.
Regarding "Boutique Amps"; most of the high-end amp makers brag about how their amps can sound "just like a 50 watt Marshall Plexi". If you're paying that much, why not spend a little more for a real one?
The Travis Bean is killer. I thought it would go for more than 3k.
