the juno sounds sit real well in one of our bands and I'm reaaaally excited about this

going to have a hard time talking myself out of this, but it would be nice to have one very practical live synth
Re: Synths and electronic instruments
22I was extremely excited...until I saw the price. JFC that's a bummer.
Re: Synths and electronic instruments
23yeah that's what has stopped me so far. 1500 I could swallow without feeling too bad. I'll probably still do it. I'll sell a guitar that brings me no joy.Garth wrote: Thu Jun 23, 2022 9:16 am I was extremely excited...until I saw the price. JFC that's a bummer.
Re: Synths and electronic instruments
24Juno-6 retailed for $1295 in 1982 (~$3.8K today). It just seems like a lot because we're flooded with cheap goods constantly.
Re: Synths and electronic instruments
25Not that fond of the Juno sound. Too plastic 80s. If they're reissuing something I would've preferred the Jupiter. Maybe it'll come?
born to give
Re: Synths and electronic instruments
26One of the things mentioned in that video is the current Roland expansion platform. I would think this would make it likely to allow for a Jupiter algorithm to go on that keyboard...or as a plug-in even - but this is pure speculation on my part.kokorodoko wrote: Thu Jun 23, 2022 11:16 am Not that fond of the Juno sound. 27They have a reissue Jupiter: https://www.roland.com/us/products/jupiter-x/
They should combine the Juno-x and Jupiter-x into a new JUNIPER-X

29How big of a routing table would it have?Nate Dort wrote: Thu Jun 23, 2022 11:27 am They have a reissue Jupiter: https://www.roland.com/us/products/jupiter-x/

Also, please imagine a joke about bringing back rackmount synths.

Re: Synths and electronic instruments
30There’s also that Juno module? JU60 I think? I have an HS-60, which is a 106 with speakers, and it’s a fun synth, but if I had to do it as keyboard +module I’d probably be happy.TylerDeadPine wrote: Thu Jun 23, 2022 5:54 pmthat's exactly the sound I wantkokorodoko wrote: Thu Jun 23, 2022 11:16 am Not that fond of the Juno sound.
