Re: What are you thinking right this second?
521TFW you're screenshotting some of your DMs so you can email them to your therapist ahead of the weekly session, to save time. Just, fuckin'...oy.
If I had a therapist I would give them writings all the time because I can communicate much better in writing than in speech.susanvp wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 5:36 pm TFW you're screenshotting DMs so you can email them to your therapist ahead of the weekly session, to save time. Just, fuckin'...oy.
They usually have fucking shit cultural tastes, tbf.rsmurphy wrote: Mon Jul 25, 2022 9:59 am The political right, cognitive dissonance, and music appreciation. How is one able to hold such odious views, yet appreciate good music that obviously has indelible ties to leftist politics, or at the very least is appreciated by a community of which they want no part of admission. Maybe I'm giving them too much credit. Not saying they out here listening to Spray Paint, but are they? I'm sure there are an awful lot of conservative Gen Xers who know how to find quality music. I just don't get how one can like music that espouses a viewpoint yet live one's life counter to that point.
Without a doubt. Agreed. But there has to be a small group of discerning listeners amongst their crowd, especially if they are in their late 40's/early 50s.A_Man_Who_Tries wrote: Mon Jul 25, 2022 10:06 am They usually have fucking shit cultural tastes, tbf.
Sounds a lot like you are dealing with my sister.rsmurphy wrote: Mon Jul 25, 2022 11:18 am Holy shit say everything you need to say in one goddamn message or text and not this train-of-thought bullshit where I'm getting pinged every 10 seconds. What an annoyance.
being a bit passive/aggressive. soz.
Not trying to sound ageist, but I think it is generational although I do have one friend around my age who communicates like this. So annoying. Take a minute, gather your thoughts, and put them all in one message. Use paragraphs if you like.
I don't necessarily think it has much to do with age, though that could be part of it.rsmurphy wrote: Mon Jul 25, 2022 12:31 pmNot trying to sound ageist, but I think it is generational although I do have one friend around my age who communicates like this. I saw Mavis Staples perform last night at a local park. During one song (My Country), she started talking about racism, voting rights, mass shootings, gun control, etc. I was sitting on a bench in the back of the park and saw a few dozen Boomers storm off while yelling at her and flipping her off. How do you not know what a 83 year old artist is all about? Also, lol at their display, no one within 20 feet could see or hear them. Fucking idiots.rsmurphy wrote: Mon Jul 25, 2022 9:59 am The political right, cognitive dissonance, and music appreciation.
