During one song (My Country), she started talking about racism, voting rights, mass shootings, gun control, etc. I was sitting on a bench in the back of the park and saw a few dozen Boomers storm off while yelling at her and flipping her off. How do you not know what a 83 year old artist is all about? Also, lol at their display, no one within 20 feet could see or hear them. Fucking idiots.
Fuck these types of people for real. You are going to see Mavis Staples of The Staple Singers, one of the defining bands of civil rights protest music: "When Will We Be Paid," "Why (Am I Treated So Bad)," "We The People," and you're going to do some performative bullshit of defiance because she mentions racism. WHY ARE YOU THERE??? These types of people are deeply stupid.

I don't get it.

like all those Pink Floyd/Roger Waters fans shocked and upset that he was anti-Trump on his tours?

People are misinformed, poor listeners, shallow, incurious, sometimes not great at grasping the meaning of things, smart in dumb ways, or just racist/-phobic/hateful people. Fuck them. I'm glad Mavis got their money.

Stop polluting the internet with your bad advice!
My mom stores her LPs in equivalents of those. What's wrong with it?
I think they’re just not good for moving them because they hold too many. They’re heavy fuckers.

Does it give the American right wing pause that 95% of the art and entertainment they consume is created by people left of center?
Frankly it should give RATM pause that their $400-a-seat-reunion-tour, commercial lunkhead riff-rap seems to trigger an audience of morans to slam Claws, and not mobilize the chin-stroking anarchists that they are clearly angling for. Mavis Staples is off the hook, but frankly if you're playing in a public park you're gonna get all manner of drunks.

When I now hear/read the word "grooming" all I can think about is music that has at the very least for half a century groomed heterosexual boys and girls. It's totally fine for Gary Puckett to blame a young girl for turning him on; in "Iesha" from the little boy new jack swing group, Another Bad Creation, grown adults had 8/9/10-year-old boys singing about stepping to young girls on the playground. The hypocrisy of politicians and their bullshit grooming stance, when little boys and girls are groomed for heterosexuality from as soon as they leave the womb is exasperating. And this plays into just how fucking stupid people are. Same shitheads who go on about grooming are the same ones who played air guitar to "Hot for Teacher," and they don't even recognize their duplicity.

Fuck these people.

It reminds me of when a male baby is smiling at a young lady in a public place and the adults comment on how he's flirting. Little dude can't even talk yet and you already have him cruising for chicks?
