is there a brunch food item that isn't generally a breakfast or lunch option? if there isn't I would say it isn't a meal at all and only a social occasion.

33Brunch is just being late for breakfast and standing in line till lunch. Often with a fancy handbag while making a tik tok. Fuck brunch.

34It strikes me as hangover breakfast and I'm down with the concept. Never been to an actual brunch place so that might suck.

38Brunch in America, might have unflattering bourgeois associations.
"Karen's Happy Hour," if you will.
It could seem haughty, like when you stay at a very modest hotel and they offer a Continental Breakfast (something lampooned fairly well on Key & Peele).
But...the number of times I've stayed up all night working and then desperately filled up on breakfast food somewhere between 9 and 11 before winding down and then sleeping like the dead...have lost track.

Crap for the gangs of 23-year olds getting shitfaced and staggering around the sidewalks as I try to go about my business on a weekend afternoon.
As a meal Not Crap - shit yeah I love hollandaise and sweet drinks.
