Every time I've been to Paris, I've set aside one morning to get up early and go to the Catacombs before open. Every time has resulted in me not wanting to deal with the already long line and heading off elsewhere.
The National Library mentioned above is really great, but I'm a book and map nerd so ymmv.
Re: Cool/Fun Things To Do In Paris
12My father-in-law has just told me about the longest running show at a single theatre, a double-bill of Ionesco’s “The Lesson” and “The Bald Soprano” at Theatre de la Huchette. I like Ionesco and we have agreed to go next time we’re over!
My father-in-law first came to Paris in the late ‘the 60s, and he rushed to see the play soon after, as he did not want to miss such a cultural landmark – a ten-year run!

13The most touristy thing we did was the Musée des Égouts de Paris because that's some good shit.
We stayed in the 19th arrondissement, which meant Parc de La Villette was a short walk away. I loved it so much, we visited three different days.
