You could say a lot of things about it but I wouldn't say that's true at all, other than maybe the last 5 minutes.enframed wrote: Mon May 16, 2022 9:56 amLooks incredibly sappy.penningtron wrote: Mon May 16, 2022 8:02 am Everything Everywhere All At Once was as great as I'd hoped it'd be. 212We watched The Northman. I thought it was really terrible. Just an ugly mess. The pacing is disjointed and irritating. It feels and looks like someone made a supercut of cinematic cutscenes from a dumb video game. After we watched it I realized it is the same dude that made The VVitch and Lighthouse, both of which we thought were hot garbage, so maybe we just don't like that dudes movies. I'd rather watch that dumb Vikings TV show than the Northman. D-

213Watched the Firestarter remake this weekend; it was decent but I'm glad I haven't seen the original in about ten years so I'm not sitting there just comparing them.
Also finally saw Halloween III this weekend. Now that was fun.

214Spiderhead was OK, kind of funny. Not sure what they intended exactly and have not read source material, but I eagerly await Darkenfloxx memes.

215Not too long ago I saw Crimes of the Future, Cronenberg's latest. It was pretty good! Based on reviews, I thought it was going to be very slow moving and impenetrable, but I was interested throughout the whole show. Kristen Stewart's character talked and acted like some kind of android.
"Whatever happened to that album?"

216I got around to watching Crock of Gold last night. It's a bummer to see the state that Shane MacGowan is in, but not as depressing as Johnny Depp's fake Irish accent.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

217Had a fun rewatch of Touch of Evil last night.

Also watched Icarus yesterday, having recently read The Radchenkov Affair. Both recommended but I would perhaps go with the doc first, if you're going in blind.
