Anyone know some dank psych-folk? So far I've only heard a Syd Barrett album, some songs by Rick Hayward... the Holy Modal Rollers... stuff like that. I really don't know much.
Looking for beautiful music that doesn't take itself too seriously and is also experimental in terms of sound/arrangement. But needs vocals. Anyone know something? I think a lot of this stuff was released in the 60's 70's ... "Acid folk" that type of stuff.

3Donovan? 'Season of the Witch" and "Hurdy Gurdy Man" that kind of thing? Some John Martyn may hit the spot, "Live at Leeds" and "One World".

6This song is taken from Damon & Naomi's collaboration with Ghost, the Japanese psych-acid-folk band. It's one of the most beautiful songs in the world, especially the outro. Absolutely stunning.
I don't know much from Vashti Bunyan, but I've heard that this record is indebted to her music.
Justice for Dexter Wade and Nakari Campbell

7Was about to say.
Buffy St. Marie - Illusions
Current 93 - Thunder Perfect Mind
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

8ISB, Comus, Current 93 etc. all good recommendations.
May I also suggest:
In Gowan Ring "The Glinting Spade".
Some of the early Six Organs of Admittance may fit the bill.

Re: Looking for some psychedelic folk...
9Sounds very close to the experience of taking psychedelics - I would argue that a lot of what gets classified as psych music refers mostly to fairly standard pop songs from the 60s. As much as I like some Syd Barrett, a lot of his music doesn’t sound very psychedelic to me - more like slightly off kilter bubble gum pop.
