A few days ago, I had a dream/nightmare that kept me awake for a few hours.
I was attacked by a spider snake.
It was an array of like 10 giant spiders that had a common body of a large snake (an anaconda).
I guess not dissimilar to the human centipede, but with huge spiders.
Like the worst thing ever.

44Walking around in an old house then sleep paralysis kicked in. It's always the same: time starts to slow down and it feels like the world is closing-in, body gets super-heavy and motion becomes labored, then I get stuck, can't move. Try to vocalize and nothing happens. This particular time I felt there were others with me - shadows, things - this rarely happens because my paralysis usually sets in as I'm waking-up. They all feel like forever.

Re: The Dream Thread
45The other night, I had a nightmare in which someone I hadn’t seen in decades had kidnapped me with the help of a large number of their friends and family. They were holding me in a basement, and they were staging a kangaroo count to determine if I should be executed or I should be allowed to live. They were angry about something I'd written, though they wouldn't tell me or show me what it was, insisting I knew what I'd said. Not everyone seemed sure about my crime either, but everyone else had told them I did something awful, and that was good enough for them. I was still working out if what I wrote was about music or politics when I woke up.

46I rarely find it worth while to share dreams. This is an exception. This is the Star Trek: The Next Generation dream I had this morning.
I woke up at 6am as though I had just seen a long lost episode of Star Trek: TNG. It was all a bit fuzzy, but here are the hasty notes I jotted down before it was all lost to the night. I have cleaned them up a bit and put them in a more sensible order.

- * The Enterprise is full of urgency. In moments it will host a delegation of aliens considering joining the federation. Picard will be the lead diplomat. There is at least one Star Fleet Admiral in attendance.
* Picard is in his silly formal attire and is gravely distressed. He has just taken a massive dump that will not flush. Time is running out before the meeting begins. He is conflicted. As an honorable man he feels incapable of leaving the turd unresolved, yet his duties as a diplomat require his immediate attendance.
* All initial attempts to reconfigure settings to accommodate the immense dump fail. Pressed for time, Picard abandons the turd to attend the meeting.
* At the meeting Picard starts things off awkwardly. Troi notices something is off. Before things can begin properly, the Enterprise computer sets off an alarm as minor malfunctions occur.
* The delegation meeting is postponed. It has become evident that a massive dump has strained ship systems. Rumors and speculation spread around the ship. “Bad Admiral” is angry and determined “to get to the bottom of this.” He is afraid of scandal and embarrassment for the federation.
* Picard orders Geordi and Wesley to run diagnostics regarding malfunctions, but they have difficulty. Geordi: “Wes, it just doesn’t make any sense, unless…”
* Troi knows who laid massive, system wrecking turd, exchanges knowing look with Picard.
* There is some speculation that Worf may have done it. Bad Admiral is becoming frustrated with Picard, suspects he took massive dump, but cannot prove it. Crew begins to cover for Picard.
* Picard calls meeting in ready room, explains the delicate situation. Riker: “Sir, you did what you had to do.” Troi: “There is nothing to be ashamed of.” Data: “I do no understand.” Worf: “It is my sworn duty to protect my captain!”
* Picard decides to confess. Gives climactic “do we not bleed/poop” speech. “76.5% of Federation member species poop. Eventually each such individual will have a bad one…”
* Aliens hear out Picard’s speech, pause dramatically, state there is no shame in massive dump, only deceit. They show gratitude and respect for Picard’s virtue, decide to join federation.
* Picard is happy with diplomatic success but is still embarrassed over massive dump. Worf notices and points out that some might consider such a feat an honor as not even Q’thloorfk of legend could stop up a star ship.

47I had a dream the clock radio went off and played “The Spirit Of Radio”. My girlfriend tried to sleep through it, but she started getting angry and turned it off. I said “C’mon. Begin the day with a friendly voice,” which made her angrier.
That’s all I remember.

48Had another one of my reoccurring plane crash nightmares last night.
At least it didn't happen while I was actually asleep on a plane this time.

Re: The Dream Thread
49Completely bizarre.
I was at a punk bar, circa 1980s. Many friends were there. I discovered that there was a wedding/reception going on. I somehow had stumbled into the club although I was unaware of/uninvited-to the wedding/reception. I was glad to be there, even if not invited as a guest. The wedding was of a PRFer who is an old friend, and a very young woman. The PRFer was my age (60s) while the bride was barely 20s. We all (guests) sat at long tables. I sat across from Naked Raygun's singer. In the front area, the ceremony had taken place. The bride and groom were wearing some kind of monk's robes, with nothing on underneath. At some point, a TV news crew heard about the event and came in to film and interview guests. They interviewed a very specific group of early influential punks from the scene back in the 80s. In the meantime, we all celebrated the newlyweds. It was a bit disconcerting, however, to see them with their robes lifted up, and we could see their nakedness. They received many gifts from guests.

50Riding a bike at a leisurely pace through some sort of street festival early morning while vendors were setting-up. "Hard Luck Woman" was playing on a sound system and I was singing at the top of my lungs, as was a vendor I noted in my periphery. It was a lovely dream. I also very rarely dream about real world pop songs so I'm taking this one to heart.
