Solo: John Frusciante

That opinion still holds.
I'm sure that plenty of people would have been very sad if he would have died. In fact, many of those people probably had given him up for dead, so it's cool to know that they got their son/brother/nephew/cousin/friend back.
There are other things that I like about him:
- I like his solo song "Your Pussy's Glued To A Building On Fire".
- He seems like a legitimately strange guy who does weird shit without contrivance.
- His last name is "Frusciante", which is a cool last name.
- He has never appeared in a "reality program" with his wife Carmen Electra.
Hey, his band still sucks a Sears Tower's worth of donkey cock, but I'm glad that there's one less body on the road.
NOT CRAP

4I like "Niandra Lades" and "To Record Only Water for Ten Days" A LOT. Everything since these two have been steadily downhill though. Especially the stuff he released this year has been pretty boring and plain sounding...
However, the songs released on the Brown Bunny Soundtrack are very, very good. Not sure how long ago they were written, but they are quite beautiful.
Seems like a genuinely nice, honest guy.

There are crispy fries waiting to come out of your oven: you just have to make them and put them there.

I'll have to pick those up...
That song 'Ramparts' off TROWFTD got me into some of his stuff, but yeah, all of the latest records seem pretty streamlined/average.
It seems that he's getting back on his feet now, though. He did that EP with Ian MacKaye and Joe Lally played on one of the last records...

6While I've never liked his band or his solo music, there's something about his guitar playing that I've always really liked.
I'll go with "not crap" but only with that caveat.

That's not entirely true.

8CRAP. Zero waffle factor.
I disagree strongly with this. Not only is his music unexceptional and tiresome, but his "eccentricity" seems to be thoroughly manufactured.
I agree with this.
