Got to the show a little late, it started pretty much 10 minutes after doors opened, but the 40 minutes we caught were very good. It was an old church (1909) and the sound was amazing. It was dark with a smoke machine, the stage had a few burning candles. There was a dude up there with him playing some mouth instrument, looked like some kind of eastern-esque flute, maybe it was South American though, or from the middle east. Pews were all taken so we went to the front and sat on the floor, where it sounded even better. I closed my eyes and listened. I left pleased with the experience.

I'm a fan of the records most of y'all have mentioned. Saw him a decade ago (or so) at the Moog Fest in Asheville. He played in a massive auditorium, which I expected to be incredibly dull, but it was SO LOUD and full of smoke with images and patterns being projected all over the smoke. It was really, really good.

Really wanted to like the last one, but it was kinda meh - and more abrasive than his better efforts.

another not crap vote based on his recorded work, but he's so-so live. I was fortunate to see him twice when I lived in Europe. Once, at this Roman underground chamber in Padua and the other time, playing music out of a speaker atop the tall church tower in Krakow (St. Mary's?) during the Unsound Festival.

Guy has never made a bad album and has arguably 4-5 stone cold classics. Easy NC
