Help me remember thread

I don't believe this has been revived outside of the archived posts, so please forgive me if I am wrong.

I've been haunted by this memory of a children's cartoon that I have hyper-specific memories of but they only add up to vague descriptions that are un-Googleable.

The cartoon in question was one I watched on VHS as a small child in the 1980s.

Similar to Ray Bradbury's "The Illustrated Man," the cartoon opens with a woman who is humming "She'll be coming 'round the mountain." I believe her name is Susanna (the literal person immortalized in the Stephen Foster song "Oh! Susanna"). She enters a building that has a small collection of paintings that portray illustrations from stories (I'm not sure if the stories were created just for this cartoon or if they existed as actual children's books). She can hum "She'll be coming 'round the mountain" while holding her ears to "enter" the world of the stories and watch them unfold.

Unfortunately I barely remember anything else about the cartoon in question but this: one of the stories Susanna enters is about the personified Thunder and Lightning being put on trial for being scary. It takes place in an "Old Western" setting. One of the more humorous details is that you see Lightning try to sit in a chair, but because the chair is wood, it catches fire. It also has an oddly catchy folk song for a theme.

A movie that came out in either 1998 or 1999 and aired on HBO in the year 2000. Rated R, contains strong sexual content.. That from the description I definitely remember because it was the only reason I wanted to watch it, I was about 9 and hoped to be able to catch a glimpse of a naked lady or two.

Anyways, all I remember of the film itself was the ending, in which a young white male with glasses in his late teens or twenties, finally gets in bed with a woman and "Ode to Joy" is playing while he narrates over the scene.

I was going to post this in the Autechre/Aphex Twin thread, but here works too.....late 90s I was dating this girl who was always playing this one Autechre record, there was one song that, over the course of 16 bars or so, the beat transmogrified from straight 4/4 to a sorta shuffly 12/8 feel in the coolest way possible...does this ring any bells?

"Ode to Joy" is actually Beethoven's Symphony no. 9. Here is a list of Beethoven in film, though I don't know if it's a complete list, but it's a starting point at least.

Beethoven took two years (1822–1824) to write what many people believe to be his best work. "Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Opus 125" is a choral symphony and you may be more familiar with it as "Ode to Joy."

"Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" (1994)
"A Clockwork Orange" (1971)
"Cruel Intentions" (1999)
"Dead Poets Society" (1989)
"Die Hard" (1988)
"Mr. Jones" (1993)

Awesome, thanks!

She tried very hard to do the right things but always, with IIRC the best intent, did the wrong thing. You feel sorry for her but also kind of hate her. Does anyone remember this film?

Kind of in the vein of All My Friends Hate Me.
