Stewart Lee does indeed refer to Daniel Kitson as “the best comedian”. Stewart Lee’s brilliant and a very appropriate subject for this thread.A_Man_Who_Tries wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 9:46 amDaniel Kitson wants a word.prowler wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 9:21 am stewart lee is the world's greatest living stand-up comedian
Same, but then I watch it from a couple years ago and I feel like the laughs per second are higherpenningtron wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 7:35 amAny 'golden era' SNL I've gone back to completely sucks. I don't recall laughing at any of it until Eddie Murphy came along.
For me the peak was the early to mid '90s, especially when Norm Macdonald came along.
Some of it didn't age well, but as a safety engineer, I still find the "bag o' glass as a child's Christmas gift" skit hilarious.penningtron wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 7:35 amAny 'golden era' SNL I've gone back to completely sucks.
Definitely better now than the "cool beans" type crap from 10-15 years ago, weaker points being Alec Baldwin's terrible Trump and an overuse of Kate McKinnon's dead eyed schtick (both gone now). Curious to see if they use Sarah Sherman more, she's completely bonkers..TylerDeadPine wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 10:12 amSame, but then I watch it from a couple years ago and I feel like the laughs per second are higherpenningtron wrote: Thu Oct 06, 2022 7:35 amAny 'golden era' SNL I've gone back to completely sucks. I did a couple of nights ago, as it goes. Wonderful, and made all the better by his relentless morphing into the old bloke from Up.prowler wrote: Sun Oct 09, 2022 6:28 am kitson is amazing. my post is a reference to stew's latest, you should watch it
