That first Roxy album is like top 5 for me. Probably the best A-side ever.

Well, that was dumb response! Sorry, FM numberthirty. Never once thought of Alice Cooper as glam but I just ran across this and it hit me, and this is after a lifetime of listening to Alice Cooper.



I've always considered glam to be snotty, sloppy, and somewhat amateurish. Bowie, Roxy Music, Alice Cooper, and others, all have accomplished musicians and other work that transcended the genre. Even at their glammiest they were creating complex arrangements that to my perspective pushed them out of the category, but that thinking is shortsighted and just plain wrong.
