I just don't think "damp" is an appealing culinary term. I love cereal...hot, cold, overly-sweet kids stuff, high fiber colon cleansers, and most everything in between. I'm not too fussy about the milk/cereal ratio, but I do like the cereal to be a big soggy-fied by the milk. I also prefer enough milk to make cold cereal actually cold.

Now if you are one of those people that likes every bite crispy/crunchy, maybe you have one of those bowls that keeps the cereal and milk separate. The soup argument goes out the window as the milk is now a dip.
By the definition applied by many here, dips are soups.
