Meta and Twitter are both about to implode and fall off a cliff and I've got my popcorn ready.losthighway wrote: Sun Nov 06, 2022 7:49 am My schadenfreude fantasy is Musk and Zuckerberg, sloppy drunk at a San Francisco bar commiserating about their failures.

752I thought, what could the next wave of social media be like?
I'm picturing a platform called Blippi, where creators can submit videos, called Blips, that are limited to one second in length.
These one second videos would be streamed to users in an endless algorithmic playlist with absolutely no pause in between, with the app constantly monitoring your facial expression to measure engagement.
Or how about a music streaming service which cuts down all songs to just one chorus, and beat-matches and stitches them all together into your own personal song medley? You'd need something for your eyes to do while you were listening but I guess you could watch Blippi at the same time.

759The R&R HOF is unfettered horseshit, but Priest reuniting with KK Downing and Les Binks almost validated its existence.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

760Thinking . . . one good thing about Twitter starting to tank is that if things keep going this way, eventually novelists won’t be expected to have accounts there.
