It sure felt great to shit, shower, and shave this morning after being without power since yesterday afternoon. Am definitely not ready to be The Underground Man if it means living without basic amenities. Hah. Feel the same way about the internet--it can be a source of vexation and amplify many of society's ills, affect a person's life for the worse, be a chimera, a waste of time, whatever--but in times of uncertainty, it's probably better to have
some sort of connection to it. Can also see now that owning a watch that also functions as a source of illumination would be a sound investment.
Anyway, things were kinda crazy for a while, where we are, but not quite as choppy as elsewhere in the state. If you watch the morning news, you'll see that some locales and neighborhoods got flooded or ripped up pretty badly. I have to ask around and see how others are doing. Here, it seems it'll mostly be windy for the rest of the day, and then we'll have at least a week of sunny weather, during which all of the fallen fronds and branches and twigs can dry out.
Lastly, saw this yesterday morning and it reminded me of something, but I couldn't get a handle on it...almost on the tip of my tongue, though...hmmm:
