Crikey, that gig's becoming the UK PRF equivalent of the Sex Pistols Manchester set... Among other friends, handsome Rimbaud III was accompanying me. Missed you completely, quite a feat in the anti-cavern that is Oto! I spotted one of my favourite Melody Maker journalists of my youth, Neil Kulkarni, but was too shy/uncertain to bother him. I did manage to introduce myself to the 41st best stand-up ever, and managed to fit both feet in my mouth which the nice man took in his stride, courteous and kind. I hope we get to bump into each other in the none-too-distant; am emerging from early dadhood isolation.

Two weeks home from being America's 2nd Best Drum Tech. Still trying to remember that i can take as long as I want to eat.

Had 12 family members here for Thanksgiving and i cooked everything but the bird. Made bubble and squeak with the leftover mash and sprouts this morning.

Bought a Subaru Forester with blown head gaskets for $1k. Gonna try to tear it down before the first of the year.

Moving my in-laws into the other little farmhouse on our land some time in early January.

My wife's college announced that they're killing the theatre program at the end of this academic year. She had tenure but if they kill the whole program they apparently don't owe her shit. If anyone needs a theatre professor i know a really, really good one.

Of all the cities i saw this year and loved, Vancouver and Los Angeles feel like places i could live. Don't @ me.

Seby - outstanding work, mon ami.

Got on my mountain bike and hit the trails near my house, then rode so hard I threw up half the bubble and squeak. I love the way i just ease into things.

Spent most of the day decorating the house for Christmas and watching Christmas movies. (Mostly the wife’s thing; I do not let her decorate for Christmas at all until after Thanksgiving.)

Also, I do not care how cliched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is; the scenes with Clark setting up the lights on the house… Clark’s grandiose plan that no one else gives a shit about, the amount of work put into it, the reason why it doesn’t initially work, and how it bothers their neighbors… never fail to elicit uncontrollable belly laughs. So fucking relatable. One of my favorite sequences in film ever.

Should be moved to the DHAK thread. (apart from the news for Mrs. Ringo)

Salut! Patrick!

I was just texting one of your countrymen since it's early afternoon there. I asked him how tomorrow's going.

I may have mentioned elsewhere that i lost my favorite feral cat to the nearby highway. I had plans to get him smuggled indoors before the weather cooled off but fate and bad luck took him.

There was another slightly older feral with a head like a cannonball but no real meat on his bones. He wasn't a regular but he'd show up from time to time. I guess my favorite little dude was keeping him from eating his fill since he was so skinny. He turned up tonight for the first time in ages and he's positively ROUND. He will henceforth be known as "The Spherical Miracle."

Had to call the cops on a homeless dude who was accosting a family getting a Covid test at my facility. He was clearly jacked up on something. I gave him the opportunity to leave before the po-po got here, but he chose to escalate, screaming at me and banging on the windows. Young guy with face tattoos. Do they issue you a tent and a sleeping bag when you get a face tattoo?*

Hated to bust the guy, but I had to do something.
