Not like the wild solo but the softly swirly guitar parts.

I used to have a Small Stone that did it but there are so many things out now I don’t know where to start
Small Stones might be the only phaser to really tempt me. I only really like that slow sound too. I don't know if the modern ones are the same or not.

Thanks everyone. The Jet Phaser looks cool and I almost bought it for the price but on the demo it kind of seems like a vintage Phase 90 tone? Sounded a lot like Wish You Were Here-era Floyd. I have a Univibe that sounds different, but has a similar use so that’s out.

I think any Small Stone will do and they aren't very expensive. So I’ll find a version and commit. I just need something to add movement to electric fingerstyle playing. More swirl than whoosh or throb? I’ll stop now

I have a Peavey Classic VTX that has the built in phaser and it is a great amp. 50 watts hybrid 2X12. Good cleans (terrible overdrive) not bad reverb. Pretty loud but not terrible. Phaser is great and it cost me $160. Totally good amp to throw in the back of a car. I think the most expensive one I've seen on CL was $250 which is still a great deal.
Was Japmn.

I'm currently in love with my phase 90, I pretty much leave the speed at 9:00 and it just works. Also have an ancient Maestro phaser that's really cool, a little more psychedelic than the MXR, adds a nice high overtone.

Anyway to belatedly answer FM Dudley's OP....I have a bunch of new guitars that all came with high gain humbuckers, and despite being the PRF's foremost Van Halen fan, I'm not really a high gain humbucker dude. So I've been swapping them out as funds allow. So....micro reviews of gear I've just bought:

Lindy Fralin Big Singles: these come in two flavors, 42 and 43, the latter are higher output. I have both, they're both killer. Just really even and balanced, they sound like a finished guitar tone on a record. High end feels like it goes on forever. They're bright but not at all harsh, the top is really smooth.

Fralin Unbuckers...low output humbuckers designed to be tapped. Unbalanced coils so there's almost no volume loss when going to single coil. Love these as well, the bridge might be my favorite of all these new pickups, just glorious.

Also have a Fralin Sunbucker and a PAF Pro waiting to go in another guitar, will report back when I get that done.

And in one other guitar I put in Dimarzios, a Humbucker from Hell in the neck and a Bluesbucker in the bridge. The latter is their P90. They're good! Just not Fralin good.
