The other issue is that it sits in the machine a long time. The moldy smell is what kills it for me. Remember before Target had Starbucks or whatever inside, and instead they had a little snack bar with a popcorn machine? The locker room stench of the popcorn machine would fill the store.

Real popcorn is fine.
When I worked at a Movie Theater, the company was enterprising/shameless enough to have us bag the leftover popcorn at night and sell it the next day.

I worked at a popcorn factory in Tucson for awhile. It was disgusting how much oil we pumped into those vats. The worst was when we made the flavored popcorn. We’d put it in something that resembled a concrete mixer and spray it down with oil. Working there during monsoon season sucked. Imagine being covered in all of that grease while it’s brutally hot and humid and the swamp coolers stopped working. I’ve only recently been able to eat popcorn again, and that job was 28 years ago.

Ok I don't think I like those tins of caramel popcorn anymore.

I've never liked popcorn either. People who know me have been like, "what?!" Yeah, it's weird. I can do popcorn if it's got some kind of light sugar coating on it, but not something like Cracker Jack.
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."
