Last night I took a class on perfumery and am thinking about moving from wine into that. More classes scheduled. We'll see. I'm getting tired of the wine business.
I’ve been interested in pottery lately. I’d like to take some classes. I’ve also become interested in olive oils. Strange how these new interests dawn on a person.
It's not all that strange to me. We're all hitting the age when some of our past interests are no longer tenable, perhaps.

I played in a band regularly for years, and then had a family and decided I needed a hobby that I could do more often at home, so I started brewing beer.

I brewed beer as a regular hobby for some ten years or so. At some point, I decided I was drinking way too much and needed to try something else.

Since then, I've had temporary replacements, like converting old reel-to-reel tapes from my Dad's band to digital, but nothing sustainable for more than a few months. I also tried making hot sauces for a while, but that didn't take (the local folks who are good at it are way better than me). I also tried getting back into the songwriting/band stuff. Others are way better at it than me. I'm too self-conscious to get back into it.

Anyway, definitely check out your new interests. And as many of them as possible. You never know what's gonna stick.

Also, I post too often on here. Sorry for that.
Reading this right after posting in the new Photography thread. Well, there it is.

So it's warm?

What's the temperature like inside a Tauntaun?

It's Lukewarm.

Covid day 3. I’ve had a yo-yo fever over the last 24 hrs. I’ll feel fine for a bit, then I’ll feel like poop, then fine, then poop. Tired of coughing. The weird dreams have been kinda cool.

I started a part-time merchandising job last week, helping out a friend’s business. I feel bad that I have to put it on hold until next week, because they really could’ve used my help this week.

My landlady has a construction crew replacing the trim on the house. Lots of banging and drilling, with Norteño music blaring from a jam box by the window. It’s made this whole experience all the more surreal.

That sucks, but post on craigslist before giving up. Chances are the thieves post or read there as part of their fencing process, and maybe someone will either feel remorseful or respond to a nominal reward offering.

Fucking porch pirates swiped it on Monday when it was supposedly delivered. Fucking scum!
Some of the funniest youtube videos are of those thiefs receiving a dose of karma.

It's not normal to let a package "abandoned" in front of a door. Never seen it here with both the postal office or private companies. They normally try to call you or leave a note so you can go to pick it up at the office. I know in some areas the amount of packages to handle and deliver is so massive that these companies may have not time/personnel to do things "properly", but...

Just in case anybody's looking for a place to donate some holiday cash, I have one here for your consideration.
My partner is an NYC public school teacher and their school has received a good many asylum-seeking migrant kids.
Some of these kids left home two years ago, on foot.
Let's get them some Christmas presents. (This is not a scam.)

Amazon wish list:

Thank you for helping us fulfill holiday wishes for over 100 children residing in transitional housing -- the vast majority of whom are seeking asylum. We plan to hand out gifts between 12/21-12/23, so please check shipping dates. On-site donations will also be accepted. We are grateful for any support you can provide! ❤

This seems like a good opportunity to give a big shout out to Letters To Santa, of course.
(A great place to donate and one that helped transform my own conception of the holiday, for which I am grateful.)

Thanks in advance to anybody who's able to contribute!
