First album had some decent, old fashioned riffs and gutsy production.
Kinda funny, though perfectly forgettable.
NC I guess.

22What? Embarrassingly bad.
I’d rather listen to Crunk

23People take this joke band seriously? I had no idea they were still going. Awful then, awful now. Fuck all that campy self-aware ironic shtick. Taking something that's funny but not a joke and making it into a joke that's not funny. Pastiche is for cowards!
Does Mike Patton hate them? Points for that I guess. Because another band was intruding on his half-insincere, joke-but-not-a-joke-but-is-a-joke turf? It was all good fun while you were the bad boy covering Lionel Richie but then the Darkness had to come along and spoil everything.

25That's a straw man; I don't think anyone who likes them takes them seriously. In fact the haters are the ones that are taking it too seriously.
Re: Hard Rock/Early Metal/Glam Rock Revivalists: The Darkness
26They are probably better than the more-earnest Wolfmother, Jet, and Buckcherry.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

27Fun band. The wife and I walked back down the isle to "I believe in a thing called love".
There were many confused faces on older relatives.
We Lol'd.

30Better than some vapid one-hit wonders from the short-lived millennial garage rock revival, sure why not. But is it BECAUSE they are winking that makes it better?Krev wrote: Tue Jan 03, 2023 7:14 pm They are probably better than the more-earnest Wolfmother, Jet, and Buckcherry.
