Aside from the obvious benefits, would the Sony be an upgrade? Comparable? Or worse? Price seem reasonable?
I would suggest replacing either the stylus or the entire cartridge on whichever you go with - old ones can start to go off after a while, even if the diamond is not completely worn out. and 10 years is a while.
