Re: What are you buying, What's on its way?
662Grabbed a Music Man 115 sixty five from CL for $450. Actually had the trem/reverb footswitch with it.
No idea what speaker is in it. Need to pull it out and look, but I don't have high hopes just looking at it. Might be a radio shack jawn. I may make a baffle adapter and throw one of my extra 12s in there.

663I can't believe how shiny the grill cloth and to(r)lex is on thatNate Dort wrote: Thu Jan 19, 2023 10:37 am Grabbed a Music Man 115 sixty five from CL for $450. Actually had the trem/reverb footswitch with it.

664The cloth looks like it came off the rack at JoAnne Fabrics. It's some sort of glittery stretchy material.

665are you not digging the speaker that's in it? Might want to try a 15" guitar speaker before going to the trouble of carving out the old baffle and installing a new one.
I've been wanting to put a Big Ben in my Ampeg Gemini VI forever and just haven't gotten around to it.

666Can also vouch for the Weber Chicago 15 with a paper dust cap if they still make it...Garth wrote: Thu Jan 19, 2023 11:58 am are you not digging the speaker that's in it? Might want to try a 15" guitar speaker before going to the trouble of carving out the old baffle and installing a new one.

Re: What are you buying, What's on its way?
667I don’t normally love 15” for regular electric guitar but have a big classic JBL 15” in an Ampeg Gemini II and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I thought they were only useful for hippies or jazzers but they really make the natural sound of the amp sound beautiful at any volume. I don’t know how it handles pedals and gobs of distortion but I don’t really care. Of if it blew I wouldn’t pay the prices they go for to replace it
Re: What are you buying, What's on its way?
668I had the 112 version of that amp and it's the only piece of gear I've ever regretted selling. Replaced the speaker w/ a Weber California after it blew at the end of a 4 week tour, always sounded great.

Re: What are you buying, What's on its way?
669I honestly haven't listened to it yet. It's still in my trunk. The speaker may be fine, but I need to identify it first.
I was gonna use one of these adapter rings to stick one of my numerous loose 12s in there and do some speaker rolling.

670Speaker is an Eminence 1556LRA, which is apparently a Carvin OEM speaker out of a PB200 bass amp.
Either way, it's actually pretty bright, so I'm wondering if it's a full-range PA-type speaker or something.
Power switch is also broken (doesn't turn off), so I'll need to replace that.
