Hotcake.
Great little New Zealand made overdrive from one of the guys that was in Split Enz.
DOD:
Gonkulator...
It just makes great fucked up noise at random....

12The Boss gonkulator pedal is cool. And the boss super feedbacker is great too. My staple pedals are boss compression sustainer, boss pitch shifter delay, and the danelectro dan echo. The Dan Echo pedal is very underrated, and everyone i show it to runs out and buys one. great sound... oddly enough.
I could have been a contender...

13Here's some of my picks:
Chicago Iron Works Parachute Wah Pedal -- a copy of the original Tycobrahe Parapedal Wah. Basically it's a clone of the signature Tony Iommi wah pedal from early Sabbath. A very interesting double pot design with with a very extended sweep and frequency.
Harmonic Percolator Clone -- basically an exact copy of the orignal harmonic percolator manufactured by Chuck Collins of Theremaniacs fame.
Univox PHZ-1 -- Univox phase effect. One of my favorite phase effects.
I'd love to find a Fender Blender, apparently this is supposed to get some pretty twisted unusable sounds.

14Although it's not weird, I have an original Harmonic Percolator. I got it about ten years ago and it's got a great distortion that doesn't distroy your low end.
Now on to weird: I love the Maestro Rhythm N Sound. It was basically a cheap, analog drum sample playback. What ever you put into the input would trigger a cheesy drum sound (clave, snare, kick, tamborine) or you could have the signal pass through clean or altered by various filters or octave/distortion.
Another weird one is the Korg PME-40X pedal board. It has lots of different effects that plug into 4 different slots (like a video game cartridge). Lots of them are standard: dist, overdrive, comp, flange, chorus, delay. But they made one called a "waveshaper" that makes a mondo aggressive square wave and beyond fuzz. It's hard to describe. They also make a great octave fuzz, and a great fuzz wah. Best thing is they are still cheap, cheap, cheap. You can often find them on Ebay with four effects for ~ $100.
I'm also fond of a Walco Sound Go Round effect. A cheap ass japanese effect from the late 60's (still cheap when you can find them) they is a simple square wave tremelo (on/off switch) that gives a choppy sound.
Of course there are 'holy grail' pedals that are weird, but so expensive that they are out of my price range (EH 16 sec delay and so on...)
I love my Lexicon Jamman for weird backwards stuff. That with an e-bow and you can't tell what is guitar and what is synth.

16Because I'm a pedal Freak I will pass on A few more if on the Hunt?
*Maestro Bass Brass Master!thick low end fuzz for bass(very hard to find and if on Ebay a Eastern man will out bid you because that's what the bass player of Yes used ?fuck that! they sound great on any style.
*Roland Bee Baa fuzz(big & crome ,Size of a line six Delay-green)thick sound!
*EH Graffic fuzz,
*EP3 echoplex /used by page on almost every tour(slight mid and Hi freq boost by just plugging in!)If you find one not working check rubber belt on bottom of motor(always fall off)
*Boss 10 band eq w/power cord & must have a gain fader!please don't vomit guys and gals but was taped to Eddie V's heads on all early tours.Basically driving them to distort through eq not Distortion box.
really do sound amazing on old pre 75 marshall heads/cost nothing really.
*Clive Mc Coy Wah /made by vox in the 60's I think?Only buy if they have a Trash can Inductor(basically the largest part on electronic board of wah(All crome and round) or a Halo Inductor which is ditto but has a crome Halo on top of cylinder! DO NOT BUY IF IT HAS A TDK(brown & square)modified.
*Fox tone machines,
*Bruno Fuzz machine(funky looking but sounds mean)
********Last treat of the day!***************
*MXR phase 90 (EASY THERE!) not the regular ones but if you look hard enough you can find the super feather light boxs w/the script logo They do sound like butter!almost like a Univibe actually.Light box has only to do with the year or batch these were made. The reason I even know is that all my Eastern Brothers foam @the mouth when I use to get one(they are way more educated on famous musicians gear then any other culture........."Ah page use!"......Ah Eddie use"...I buy!
One of the Most famous drum sounds with a phaser on over heads could have been one?
I'm 100% sure though Eruption was stomped and spit out through one of those light fucks!
I bored myself again thank you.

17one of the guitar players in my last band had a home-brewed box that was a mod of a box called the "super hard-on", which is something to do with boosting gain before you hit the input on your marshall JCM800, and getting a more ballsy tone. it worked good enough... but man do i hate stomp boxes and the whole contest to out-gear other musicians! gear snobs! ugh!
isn't the Gonkulator just a ring modulator with a whacky 90's DOD name?

18tim said something about this.
I have a Shin-EI/telestar fuzz wah that is totally insane. I love the pedal, though there is a slight volume drop. Still, it's total end of the world fuzz.
