Re: Streaming Netflix/Hulu/etc. - what's good lately?
411Last of Us episode 3…holy cow top tier art
I was a little reluctant to watch yet another zombie thing, but I’m out for a bit on medical leave and gave Last of Us a shot. I’m really enjoying the pacing and patience of this series, as well as the filming and set design and details. Like you, I was really impressed with the 3rd episode and I think it’s bold to do a backstory episode like this so early on. Just a beautiful story.
Still need to see this, especially since a good friend of mine was one of the writers.enframed wrote: Thu Feb 02, 2023 7:55 pm Finished Lodge 49. What a great fucking show. It's about a guy in Long Beach (CA, not NY) who's down on his luck and stumbles into a lodge like an Elks type thing. It's a mash-up of Coen brothers, Thomas Pynchon; the title has to be a nod to his work. It's a slow burn, but filled with beauty (not superficial), absurdity, and it's quite touching. I can see why it was cancelled. Very little violence, no sex, tits, or ass, no one is hot, and no one is mean-spirited.
That's awesome. It's really good writing, IMO. Great use of music, too. Someone on Spotify made a playlist that has most the songs used and it's a fun compilation.Wood Goblin wrote: Sat Feb 04, 2023 12:24 pmStill need to see this, especially since a good friend of mine was one of the writers.enframed wrote: Thu Feb 02, 2023 7:55 pm Finished Lodge 49.
