Big Business played NYE w/ Murder City Devils (Coady sure seems to do a lot of double duty shows!), and definitely did a fair amount of jaunts/fest shows last year. Listened to a recent podcast interview w/ Jared a few weeks ago, and he's moved back up to Oly/Tumwater, but seems like they're intending to keep Big Biz going in between HoF/MCD/Unwound/etc commitments.

Just wish that I could have seen White Shit, the band Coady & Jared did with Andy Coronado from Monorchid/Skull Control/Wrangler Brutes when that was a going thing!

Just returned from the SF show - they were magnificent. They were incredibly well rehearsed, Jared fit like a glove and the sound tonight at the Regency was stellar. I loved seeing so many kids in their 20's fucking going apeshit for this version of punk rock. I mean, there were plenty of 50ish people like my wife and our friends that went, but there were lots of legit kids who seemed to honestly be interested as fans. Was great to see.

Sara is so my favorite drummer and she was just a machine tonight. There's just something about her accents and rhythms that I think is super unique, and tonight she was pretty much untouchable.

Justin is Justin, his own totally unique player - I forget how economical his strumming is, and how often he's picking out a chord to get a different sound. His guitar sounded exactly like it always has, but clearer and more articulate in a good way. He's seems a little uncomfortable with the fanfare still,

I could go on and on, but suffice it to say it was fantastic. Life affirming for a dork like me who needs his brain shaken up every now and again with guitars and amps and shit. Worth every cent to travel out here for a show in each of the CA stops this week.

I'm glad you're happy with your choice to travel to see them. I feel the same way about travelling to Seattle to see them. Sara's drumming was better than "back in the day". I remember listening to a podcast interview with her where she said she had lessons with a music teacher that made her drumming better. I could tell.

I just saw Unwound two nights ago and they were superb. Club Congress here in Tucson is a nice intimate venue with a low stage and great sound, a perfect setting. Standing as close as I was made me realize how much Sara was driving every song, how much the other players were taking cues from her.

There were quite a few 20-somethings going crazy in the crowd but it's heartening to see that Unwound's music still strikes a chord inside young people, some of whom weren't even born when it was released. Hell, those kids knew more of the band's lyrics than I did. They kept the evening from being yet another punk show with a bunch of old people standing around, too cool for school.

For me it's a tossup between The Future Of What and Repetition but I love 'em all.

I feel ya. My feet hurt all the time.

I have balcony seats for one of their Thalia Hall shows. I don't want to stand for three hours at a show ever again.

They were great last night at Irving Plaza, Sara’s drumming was bloody amazing. Setlist was heavy on Fake Train and New Plastic Ideas but they covered a lot of ground.

Was able to catch both Chicago shows this past week. So great to be able to see Unwound in 2023, at the top of their game. I hope they do more of this.

Tough choice on the poll but I had to go with Leaves as that was the one that really grabbed me right at the right moment. Such a unique album. Repetition was a close second, had to consider that one as well. New Plastic Ideas...probably about tied with Repetition.

I want Numero to get Repetition back in stock so I can get a copy of that LP. Don't have it.
