I when I was in high school we drove 8 hours to Dallas to see Dinosaur Jr and as soon as the show was over we jumped back in the car for the 8 hour drive back so we could be in school on time. I was an hour late. Got detention.

Travelled to Iceland from the UK in 2006 to see the one-off Sugarcubes reunion show. Would do so again.

That was more of a hassle than driving out of the state or out of the country to see bands.

That stretch can just be infuriating.

i have traveled interstate via plane, bus, car or train and stayed at friends, hotels or backpackers a bit. I think it's kind of normal in Australia as often bands or people will only play one or two states.
