I am guessing that you mean this relative to the past, within a certain scope, etc., but I have to disagree. The “sports” angle in particular is pervasive among every right wing media consumer I know.

As tragic as the scapegoating is, that they resort to it at all to me says that they can't come up with a unified political message otherwise.. they don't know what to do with Trump and DeSantis isn't the golden boy they thought, etc. Again, I don't know what will happen, just grasping on to some hope that this isn't 2015/6 all over again.

I do know it's not just the republicans that want to ban TikTok, and I don't trust the PRoC either, but for a party that is supposed to not like government overreach, they sure do like to brag about banning a lot of stuff.

Yeah.. like fuck Republicans care about protecting your data, it's 100% about a platform they can't control. I'm also curious how one state is gonna implement a tech ban like this, it'll be amusing watching a bunch of cattle ranchers try to pull this off.
